Things to do: What NOT to miss on Oahu!
Not everyone has the same idea of the perfect Hawaiian vacation. Although when you visit Oahu, every where you go is basically some of the best island scenery you have ever witnessed. SHARK TOURS AT NORTH SHORE SHARK ADVENTURES
Open everyday from 6:30am to 6:30pm, except on Christmas Day, North Shore Shark Adventures is the ideal company to take you shark cage diving on Oahu. They have been around for years and safety is their number one priority. That being said, it’s safe for all ages. A lot of people have a fear of sharks, but after completing this adventure tour they realize that sharks aren’t as dangerous as they think. These shark tours combine beauty with excitement. EXPERIENCE A LUAU
Don’t miss this critical nod to Hawaiian culture! You must take in one of these traditional ceremonies of the ancient Hawaiians. Make sure you look for luaus with Kalua Pig which is unearthed from an underground oven. There’s nothing like it anywhere else!

If you’re looking for a more scenic, clean, less populated beach, be sure to make your way to Lanikai Beach. It’s secluded and serene, with the view of two smaller islands. Don’t forget your snorkeling gear as the waters here are littered with all kinds of coral structures. Venture out enough and you may see the likes of green sea turtles, octopuses, and moray eels. You’ll find it just south of Kailua Beach on the windward side.
HIKE UP OR AROUND DIAMOND HEAD
Get your butt up before the crack of dawn. Catching the sunrise from scenic view points on the east side of Diamond Head off of Diamond Head Rd are just simply relaxing and magnificent at the same time. One of the best ways to start off your day. If you’re looking for something more adventurous, hike to the top of Diamond Head. It’s only a 0.7-miles climb to the top, which will take you under an hour to complete. You’ll not only get a more epic view of the sunrise, but panoramic views of Waikiki and the mountains nearby as well. Diamond Head crater is a 760-foot summit – a result of a volcanic explosion that occurred around 500,000 years ago. Sailors were the ones that gave this crater its name in the 1800s because they believed the lava rock resembled diamonds (which was actually calcite crystals).
