One of the best ways to start off your day. If you’re looking for something more adventurous, hike to the top of Diamond Head. It’s only a 0.7-miles climb to the top, which will take you under an hour to complete. You’ll not only get a more epic view of the sunrise, but panoramic views of Waikiki and the mountains nearby as well. Diamond Head crater is a 760-foot summit – a result of a volcanic explosion that occurred around 500,000 years ago. Sailors were the ones that gave this crater its name in the 1800s because they believed the lava rock resembled diamonds (which was actually calcite crystals).
