Hawaii On a Budget!

Hawaii is one of the world’s favorite places to travel. Made up of 8 unique and beautiful islands there is something for everyone on a Hawaiian vacation! The islands offer surfing, natural beauty, water sports, hiking, great food and and an up close look at jungles, volcanoes and world-class waves! If Hawaii seems like a trip that is out of your financial reach keep reading for some great hawaii budget friendly travel tips!

Accommodations – While Hawaii offers first-class resorts you can also find budget friendly dorms and motels to fit any budget. Hostel dorms usually run around $30 a night. Many small and less touristy motels offer rooms for as low as $60/night. If you are feeling adventurous check out Airbnb for unique and affordable rooms or homes!

Food – Since food is imported to the islands it can be slightly costlier than on the mainland. However, check out locally run restaurants that offer lunch plate specials. Food trucks and sandwich shops are great options for low cost meals and sandwiches. If you don’t mind eating fast food hit up the dollar menu at McDonalds! You can also find buffets that run around $25 per person and will fill you up for the whole day. Depends what fits your Hawaii budget.

Transportation – The best way to get around the islands and visit all the locations you are interested in is to rent a car. You can get a small compact car for around $70. Hawaii does offer taxis and bus service.

Activities – Visit Hawaii’s National Parks to hike, bike, swim and enjoy the natural beauty of Hawaii. Most parks do have fees but you can spend the entire day enjoying everything they have to offer. Check out this website for a great list of parks and how much they cost https://www.nps.gov/state/hi/index.htm
